About Us
INGfertility® was founded by two women reproductive physiologists in 1994. The company holds numerous US and international patents on the use of bioactive sugars (often found in plants and trees) to protect cells and improve their function, including for sperm and embryos. INGfertility®’s products have been designed in response to the needs of trying-to-conceive couples as recognized during years of federally funded research in this area.
INGfertility® was named for Ing, the Norse fertility god, whose archetypical qualities are represented by one of the 22 Rune stones of Nordic culture. He is family oriented and a champion of children. At INGfertility® we support a greater understanding of male fertility. Much more is known about infertility in women than in men, even though 60% of the time the man is involved in a couple’s fertility issues.

Co-founder: Dr. Joanna Ellington
Dr. Ellington (‘Dr. E’) is an internationally recognized scientist in the area of sperm physiology with over 75 publications. Her primary areas of research have been in sperm transport and storage in the Fallopian tube and how sperm DNA is damaged by male exposure to medications and toxins.
Dr. Ellington's research in male Reproductive Physiology was honored by the scientific community when she received the internationally recognized Young Andrologist Award in 2003. She has held leadership positions in several medical societies, including an Executive Council position in the American Society of Andrology (Sperm Physiologists). Dr. Ellington received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 from the University of Tennessee and her PhD from Cornell University in 1990 in Reproductive Physiology. She also received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Tennessee in 2004. You can read more about her research here.
CEO: Dr. G. Dennis Clifton
Dr. Clifton is a Doctor of Pharmacy and a nationally recognized leader in the area of pharmacy education and pharmaceutical research. He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Oregon State University and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky. He served on the faculty of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy for 12 years and on the faculty of Washington State University for 6 years, where he was Interim Dean of the College and a Department Chair. Dr. Clifton is an active scientist with over 18 years of experience in clinical research. He has authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications in medical and pharmacy journals. He has been CEO and President of INGfertility® since 2009. Dr.Clifton was the Quality Manager of IngFertility® prior to this.INGfertility® Products
Personal Care & Clinical
Pre~Seed® 'fertility-friendly' Personal Lubricant was uniquely developed to match fertile cervical mucus in ph, osmolality and viscosity. Pre~Seed®’s patented formula is applied by use of an applicator to coat the internal vagina and exterior cervix.
Most lubricants harm sperm and should not be used while trying to conceive. Clinical studies have reported that Pre~Seed®’s formula is the only vaginal dryness relief product that does not interfere with human sperm motility and DNA quality, or damage embryo development (in animal studies). Pre~Seed® is the only product allowed to say that it is “safe to use when trying to conceive.”
Pre'® Lubricant provides lubrication mild enough for any woman at any time in her life, including: tampon insertion, trying to conceive, pregnancy and breastfeeding, dealing with illness or pelvic pain disorders, and the physical changes of maturity.
Pré® is isotonic to the body’s secretions (e.g., same “salt” concentration as your body), whereas leading lubricants have a higher “salt” concentration which can lead to irritation in some users. In fact, in a 2008 survey of 2,000 women, 56% experienced vaginal irritation from lubricants, with over 35% experiencing it frequently.
